...to the conclusion of VeganMoFo. I am a strong believer in the seasonally appropriate house cocktail. This is what Your Vegan Mom is currently pouring:
Call it what you will
(1 shot bourbon),
soda water to almost fill,
top with a drizzle of spiced apple syrup,
stir.
spiced apple syrup:
one bottle apple cider
1 orange dotted with several whole cloves
the scraped carcass of one vanilla bean
Let all that simmer over medium-low until the house smells divine and the cider has reduced to a syrupy consistency. Let cool, and pour into a jar to have on hand for all of your seasonal cocktail needs.
I raise my glass to all of you who fulfilled whatever your goals were for this past month's celebration of vegan food, or wrote a novel, or just wrote, or just ate food.
